Frequently asked questions
Does converting between audio formats lose quality?
Converting from a lossy format (like MP3) to another lossy format can lose a little quality, because detail already discarded cannot return. Converting to a lossless format (WAV/FLAC) preserves whatever is in the source but will not restore lost detail. For best results, convert from the highest-quality original you have.
Should I pick MP3 or FLAC?
Choose MP3 or AAC when you want small files for phones, streaming and sharing. Choose FLAC or WAV when you are archiving or editing and want full fidelity. FLAC is roughly half the size of WAV for the same quality.
Are my recordings uploaded?
No. Audio is converted locally in your browser, so interviews, meeting recordings and voice memos never leave your device or get stored anywhere.
